What Plugins Do You Use?

I just compiled a list of all the plugins that I use on this site. I think I am becoming a plugin junkie. I search for new plugins every day and I try out all the ones that I think are interesting. While my list is somewhat shore compared to the plugins that I have actually uploaded and deactivated, it is made up of some of my favorites.

So, check out my list, and then tell me, what plugins do you use?

Voyage of Discovery: A Bolg Tour Meme Week 3

The Internet is MASSIVE and sometimes we don’t get to see all of the great blogs that the WWW has to offer. So this MEME aims at connecting us to great blogs. How does it work? Just create a post every weekend linking to six blogs that you think others should know about. Then come back here and add yourself to the list.

  1. The Parenting Pink Blog: A shrink turned SAHM who has three girls, a love of pink, and a knack for teaching her husband a lesson.
  2. Photography and Writing: The pictures and writing on this blog are bound to get your creative juices flowing.
  3. 1000Words Meme: A Meme that will help you get over your writer’s block. I visit all the time, but have never participated. I will today.
  4. MixedMetaphor.net: Great short stories.
  5. Light-Skinned-ed Girl: An insight into what is means to be a mixed-race child in a world determined to put you in a box. A must read for any multiracial family.
  6. American Girl:I can’t even begin to explain why you should read this blog. Just do it; you’ll understand.

Your turn! Post your Six and then come back here and add your name.

When it Rains…

SWHS was suffering from Croup but it traveled to her lower lungs and has become Bronchitis. Bronchitis means asthma attack which means nebulizers treatments and prednisone and hyperactivity. To boot, hubby and I both came down with the flu- during the summer. By the way, a tooth broke and I am certain that I have at least 6 cavities, but I had to cancel the dental appointment because munchkin was in the hospital.

Then, my blog broke and I spent the better part of today, trying to figure it out.

So, now, at 7:13 PM, I am off to bed.

6 Unspectacular Quirks

I was tagged by Renee who makes and sells the most beautiful diaper cakes for expectant moms. So, here are the rules:

Here are the rules when you get tagged:
1. Link back to the person who tagged you
2. Mention the rules on your blog
3. Tell about 6 unspectacular quirks of yours
4. Tag 6 bloggers by linking them
5. Leave a comment on each of the tagged blogger’s blogs letting them know they’ve been tagged.

Six Unspectacular Quirks

(1) Stereotypes annoy me so much that I have lost friends over them. I don’t like to be put in a box and I try not to do it to others. I have a low tolerance for that kind of ignorance.
(2)I don’t think it’s necessary to soothe a child’s ego with a celebration of mediocrity. No one is good at everything.
(3)I will eat breakfast foods anytime of the day. Especially after sex.
(4)I am petrified of heights and will freeze if forced to be high up on something.
(5)I cannot sleep face to face with my husband (or anyone for that matter) because I think he will steal my breathe/air. I’m asthmatic.
(6)I believe that the US needs a National Language so that we can have a National Identity. It is the only thing that I agree with Republicans about.

Kids Feel Special With Personalized Books

Building self-esteem and confidence is so necessary in the early years because children are going through so many changes. During my childhood I quested quite often why there were no brown people in the books that we read nor in the sea of dolls at store. It wasn’t until I began to frequent the library that I learned that there were books with people like me in them.

As the mother of a biracial daughter, I sometimes worry that she will not see enough images of children who look like her. That’s part of the reason that I love personalized merchandise like children’s book or CD’s. With personalized items like these, children will feel connected and safe because they will see themselves and feel like they are a part of something. Imagine just how much easier potty training will be if your child see herself using the potty in a book. I think I’m going to order that one ASAP. LOL.
